Why I Started BODH Life Coaching
BODH (Bode) is a Hindi word that reflects my mission to bring awareness and growth to young adults struggling with creating structure and meaning in their lives. So, why did that become my mission? There are four main reasons, and all of them come back to what I’ve learned through my own experiences and what I believe young adults need most from their coaches.
First, I found it to be crucial that the person leading the practice deeply understands their clients. When I say "understand," I mean truly getting what it feels like to be standing at the crossroads, wondering which path will finally lead to a sense of purpose. I know what it feels like to be in that space where every day feels like a battle between where you are and where you hope to be. Growing up, I had my share of challenges – wrestling with ADHD, searching for direction, and navigating life as a young person trying to figure it all out. There were times when I felt like I was pushing through fog, unsure of what lay ahead.
I also had moments that knocked me down hard, like witnessing my mother’s battle with cancer while bracing for the possibility of losing both parents at the age of 16. I’ve been through that feeling of shutting down, of wanting to give up, and yet somehow finding the strength to keep going. These aren’t just stories I tell; they’re the backbone of how I coach today. They’ve taught me to meet my clients exactly where they are, understand their struggles from the inside out, and walk with them on their journey to a more fulfilled life.

The mission of any coaching practice should be client-focused. For me, that means putting the needs of my clients and families first, above all else. It’s about making sure I have the time and space to give each client the full attention they deserve and not getting distracted by things that don’t contribute to their growth. Some coaching practices get caught up in a litany of internal goals or rigid systems that shift the focus away from the client. It’s better to ensure that every step we take is tailored to each client’s success and well-being, always.
I have a deep desire to help others in a way that is truly customized to them. While there are excellent methodologies in coaching, it’s important to remember that each client’s journey is unique. It's not about sticking rigidly to a doctrine but about understanding what will work best for each person. This means being flexible and creative, allowing space to develop customized strategies and steps that align with each client's specific needs and goals. It’s about seeing people clearly and supporting them in a way that serves their highest good.
Finally, transparency is important to me. When a coach runs their own practice, they have complete clarity over how things operate. They know the business in and out and can ensure that communication is clear, concise, and honest. There’s no mixed messaging or confusion about expectations or processes. Everything is straightforward because it’s all driven by a single purpose: to serve the client’s best interests. I'm honored to be on this journey, helping others find their way just like I found mine.
